2008 Bodegas El Porvenir de Los Andes Laborum Torrontes (Argentina) Shelf Price: $18.99 Collectors Club Price: $15.57 Wine Advocate – 87 Points : El Porvenir de Los Andes’ 2008 Laborum Torrontes was sourced from a 40-year-old vineyard at 6000 feet of elevation. Medium straw-colored, it offers up a fragrant nose of baking spices, lychee, pit fruits, and a hint of tropical aromas. Crisp, balanced, and lengthy, this dry, tasty effort will provide pleasure over the next 1-2 years.
2008 Longplay “Jory Bench Reserve” Pinot Noir (Chehalem Mountains) Shelf Price: $29.99 Collectors Club Price: $24.59 Wine Enthusiast—93 Points : Longplay’s 2008 reserve is quite different from its non-reserve stablemate. The aromas include more earthy barnyard scents, the color has a hint of maturity, and no new oak was used. As a result, this wine could pass for one with a few more years under its belt; its flavors more suggestive of fruit pastry, figs and plums, leather and compost. Complex and detailed, it’s a lovely effort.
2007 Ayoub “Memoirs” Pinot Noir (Dundee Hills) Shelf Price: $32.99 Collectors Club Price: $27.05 The 2007 Memoirs is a blend of Pinot Noir created from four select top producing vineyards in the Dundee Hills & Eola Hills AVAs. The wine was barrel aged for 18 months in 25% new and 75% older French oak barrels. It has aromas of dark cherry preserves, exotic spice and a hint of eucalyptus. The mouth-feel is broad and silky with subtle oak spice and soft tannins framing elegant cherries, red plum, cranberry and maple. The lengthy finish is highlighted by seductively sweet vanilla and well balanced acidity. This wine will benefit from time in the cellar, and it has 7-10 years aging potential. Only 380 cases made
2003 La Azul Reserva (Mendoza) Shelf Price: $18.99 Collectors Club Price: $15.57 60% Cabernet Sauvignon 40% Malbec 50 year old vines in Mendoza - Uco Valley 3900 feet above sea level. This blend is aged 15 months in oak barrels 70% French oak and 30% American oak. This is a wine that will surprise because of its complexity and intensity. The deep red hue is reminiscent of wild cherries. At the nose are intense red and forest fruits and pepper, assembled with aromas of vanilla and chocolate. At the mouth, the tannins are sweet and structured, of great body, complex, with refreshing sharpness and very long end. This wine goes well with spicy foods, old ripe cheeses and red meat.

Medium-bodied and displaying some elegance on the palate, it has plenty of savory black fruit, light tannin, and 1-2 years of aging potential. Drink this solid effort from 2011 to 2021.
